REPORT A SITE

Report an Underwater Archaeology Site in Georgia's Waters.

Do you know the location of a shipwreck or an underwater archaeology site in Georgia?  Do you want to help protect this resource for future generations?  Report the site to the Georgia Department of Natural Resources underwater archaeologist through the on-line reporting form.

Maritime sites in Georgia include not only shipwrecks, but also:

Prehistoric: watercraft (canoes), fish weirs, fish traps, dams, inundated terrestrial sites, caves, springs, sinks, wet sites, landings, eroded sites, isolated finds and others.

Historic: canoes, ferries, boats, piers, wharves, docks, retaining walls, wing dam walls, jetties, groins (historic shore protection), boat slips, ways, landings, dams, ship yards, water control structures (rice gates and trunks), fish weirs, mills, bridges, canals, locks, aids to navigation (beacons and markers), submerged timbers (deadhead logs), dumps, inundated terrestrial sites and others.

IF IT WAS IN OR ON THE WATER, BUILT NEXT TO IT OR OVER IT, WE PROBABLY WANT TO TAKE A LOOK AT IT!

Help us record Georgia's underwater heritage.
